What We Do

At the Little Hut, we offer equine assisted learning and wellbeing sessions to a wide variety of people with varying wants and needs. Through groundwork with the horses, animal care and other outdoor activities we create positive educational and emotional wellbeing outcomes.

Each client's journey with us is tailored to them, and can be adpated and added to along the way, and I am always happy to talk about how we might accomodate your needs.

You can also follow us on social media to keep up to date with what we're getting up to at the centre.

Equine Assisted Learning Sessions

Georgie's EAQ provides alternative education provision for children and young people who are accessing mainstream education part time or not at all.

Equine assisted learning works alongside horses, dogs and other animals to provide client-led, experiential learning experiences, covering a huge range of learning opportunities. These sessions involve regular reports, and aim for outcomes such as better cohesion within school hours, reintegration back in to mainstream schooling, and/or the achievement of internal EAQ or nationally recognised OCN qualifications in animal care.

These sessions are run on a 1:1 basis during term time, and are accessible through the local authority, through the school, or through private funding for home schooled children. If accessing these sessions is something that is of interest to you, or for more information on what these sessions are like, please contact me for advice and guidance.

Wellbeing Sessions

These sessions are also run on a 1:1 facilitator-client basis, but can be facilitated as 1:2 facilitator-client if there is a friend or sibling that would like to join. These sessions will work on aims discussed and agreed with clients/parents and young people, as well as an initial assessment from myself.

These sessions follow the same approach and activities as the equine assisted learning sessions but without reports or building qualification portfolios.

We will work on aspects such as confidence, resilience, problem solving, and social anxiety, again using animal care, and nature based activities. For clients over 8 years old they can also involve trips out in to the community to assist with social development.

These sessions are accessible for anyone, and can also run intertwined with the equine assisted learning sessions.

Other Services

To organise one off or regular group visits, for groups of friends, schools or other groups such as care homes, group homes, etc please contact me outlining what you are looking for.

The space is also available to hire for other professionals looking to provide wellbeing services in a natural environment, such as counsellors/therapists, yoga instructors, outdoor craft/cooking instructors etc.

My aim is to provide a space and services that are accessible and helpful for as many people as possible, and I'm always happy to have a chat about ways to make that possible.
